  • Introduction

    Most Liveaboards have fixed schedules, the majority of which offer trips that are four days and four nights in duration. So it is a case of finding a liveaboard that meets your expectations, budget and of course a liveaboard that has dates that match your vacation plans. With South Siam 3 it is possible to join and depart the boat seven days per week and you can stay as long as you want. The way this is managed is the liveaboard stays in the Similans the entire season and guests are transferred to/from the liveaboard via speedboat.

    The big advantage of this system is the flexibility, ideal for those with limited time or fixed dates. The downside is the boat stays in the Similan Islands and also offers diving at Koh Bon on Wednesdays and Sundays, which is great location for diving with Manta Rays. But the boat will not visit Koh Tachai or Richelieu Rock.

    Information

    The boat can accommodate 28 guests in twin shared air conditioned cabins, and two double bed cabins. The boat has 6 shared bathrooms. A large shaded outdoor area where meals are served, an indoor air con cabin with TV/DVD entertainment center, plus a huge sundeck.

    Itinery

    1st Day - Pick up between 6-7am in Phuket, or around 7:30 - 8am in Khao Lak area. Transfer to speedboat at Thap Lamu pier near Khao Lak. Speedboat to the Similan Islands to join the South Siam 3. Maximum 4 dives on the first day.

    Non-transfer days - 4 dives

    Final day - Maximum 3 dives and transfer by speedboat to Thap Lamu, then back to Khao Lak by about 4:30 - 5pm Phuket by about 6:30 pm.

    If you stay only 2 days/1 night, first day is transfer from Phuket, second day return to Phuket. Exact dive sites are decided en route based on currents, weather, customer choice, big fish sightings etc.. South Siam 3 dives only at the Similan Islands with some dives at Koh Bon on Wednesdays and Sundays.
